When There Are Changes, There Are Opportunities~}

If you do the same thing over and over again and expect a better or dissimilar results, then you aren’t not that smart. If you continue to surround yourself with people who cannot improve you, you’ll continue you move in circles. In fact, we have come to know that people generally fear about changes and fail to spot the opportunities in life.

If you wish to change your life for the better sake of others around you, you have to tell yourself to do things differently from now on. That means walking out of your comfort zone. Taking a risk and making the most of that chance.

Shows like makeover series amply demonstrate this theory of before and after changes? Notice how vibrant and excited for life they are. Now you don’t need the glare of a camera and millions watching to make such a significant change. If you’ve become too comfortable, and lazy take this time to revamp your wardrobe. Get a new hairstyle, try different makeup colors and go to the gym. It through changing yourself’s outlook that you can set off to improve your mentality, attitude and self-esteem.

Maria Duval mentions that there has to have some forms of self questioning if any of these are too much and becomes unbeneficial as they could be taking out life force from you. The toughest people to influence in any transformation are the ones closest to you. They want you to stay right where you are, because that is comfortable for them. This is about you. Start associating with people whom you’d like to become. Not those you’re trying to get away from.

A lot of people say they welcome changes and wholeheartedly believe changes will be beneficial, but they are clueless when ask how to go about making these changes. You have to have clear defined goals. Visualize what it is you’d like to attain. A new job, a new house, a car… Anything you desire is simply waiting for you to take action to get it. It may seem impossible now because you simply haven’t figured out how to get there yet. Once you have defined what it is you want, start planning the steps. Be realistic with the timelines. And don’t omit anything. To get to point A from point B you still have to take one foot and place it from of the other for the entire journey… and this is a journey.

Once you’ve embarked on your odyssey, don’t give up. There will be friends who may mock you. There may be family members who create obstacles in your way.  Remain firm. It may seem a little selfish at times, but that’s what you need to do to reach that goal. There is no-one looking over your shoulder to make sure you get there. So you’re going to have to ensure you keep the promises you make to yourself. Which are always the most difficult to keep.

Life feels truly fantastic when you have accomplished what you want in life. The road may be hard, but hardship makes it more valuable. Believe in yourself and invest in yourself. Do your best to inspired people around you. Winners are loved by people around. That winner should be you.

LAN (Local Area Network)

A LAN (Local Area Network) is an individual network that covers a single geographical area,
providing networking services and applications to people within a common managerial structure,
such as a single business, campus or region. A LAN is usually administered by a single organization.
The administrative control that governs the security and access control policies are enforced on the network level.
LANs and WANs are very useful to individual organizations. They connect the users within the organization.
They allow many forms of communication including exchange e-mails, corporate training, and other resource sharing.

Communication with data, voice, and video is critical to business survival.
Consequently, a properly designed LAN is a fundamental requirement for doing business today.
You must be able to recognize a well-designed LAN and select the appropriate devices to support the network specifications of a small- or medium-sized business.

Why You Want A Positive Mental Attitude To Achieve Success

You want the best that life has to offer. You want everything to go smoothly and according to the plans you have prepared for yourself. However, reality just isn’t like that.We cannot always prepare ourselves for the challenges and obstacles that come our way.

Here’s the problem: you cannot control outside circumstances that force themselves into your world. If you could, we would all become gods in our own little ideal world, and we wouldn’t need to be reading articles like this one on how to cope with unexpected problems.

You cannot control external forces closing in on you, but what you can control is your attitude and how you will respond. Bad things happen, but that doesn’t mean you have to react negatively in return.

When you change the way you look at the world, the world you look at will change. How you see the world directly affects your experience of living. By making the necessary mental and emotional adjustments, you can see new opportunities, even when things do not go according to plan or when troubles occur.

Here are some suggestions to start you on your journey to a more positive attitude.  And remember that having the right support like friends, family or a great life coach are key to success, especially when dealing with a particularly challenging struggle.  Consider the following tips I learned from a personal life coach::

1. Accept the responsibility you have over your own life and being. You are solely responsible for your thoughts and actions. Take the time and effort to invest in yourself for positive changes.

2. Condition your mind to accept only positive but realistic thoughts. What we feed our brains will result in its degree of performance. If you fill your head and heart with negative thoughts and emotions, it is very difficult to have a positive attitude. Make some time every day to focus on what is good in your life, the things you’re grateful about. It is the food your heart and mind need to be healthy.

3. Choose your words carefully. Words like “always, never, I have to, I must, etc.” place in your brain the concept of not being in control, meaning that other people or circumstances are in charge of how you should react. Instead, choose to speak with words confirming your ability to choose: I want, I choose, I will.

4. Associate yourself with people who believe in you and support you. That’s not the same as people who just flatter you and agree with anything you say. Those are fake people. What you want is people who truly have a positive outlook on life.

Having a positive mental attitude is highly contagious. Just remember that in order to attract positive people in your life, you have to become an attractor by developing and maintaining a positive mental attitude.

WAN (Wide Area Network)

When an  individual Company or Organization has locations that are separated by large geographical distances,
it will be a matter of necessity to connect these individual locations so as to share, exchange and manager data or communication.
To achieve this, the organization needs a Telecommunication Service Provider  (TSP) to interconnect the LANs at the different locations.
Telecommunications Service Providers manage large area networks that can span long distances.
TSPs transported voice and data communications on separate networks.
These networks that connect LANs in geographically separated locations are referred to as Wide Area Networks (WANs).
See the image below:

Here are the three major characteristics of WANs:

* WANs generally connect devices that are separated by a broader geographical area than can be served by a LAN.

* WANs use the services of carriers, such as telephone companies, cable companies, satellite systems, and network providers.

* WANs use serial connections of various types to provide access to bandwidth over large geographic areas.

Point-to-Point (PPP)

What is PPP?

Point-to-Point connection is one of the most common types of WAN connection. PPP connections are used to connect LANs to service provider WANs, and to connect LAN segments within an organisation network. A LAN-to-WAN point-to-point connection is also referred to as a serial connection or leased-line connection, because the lines are leased from a carrier (usually a telephone company) and are dedicated for use by the company leasing the lines.

Simply, when you establish a connection to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) through a modem. The connection between the ISP and you make up two points on the network. Therefore, the protocol that is used for establishing this connectivity between the two of you is the Point-to-Point Protocol or the PPP.

Note:

The default serial encapsulation method when you connect two Cisco routers is HDLC. This means, Cisco HDLC can only work with other Cisco devices. However, when you need to connect to a non-Cisco router, you should use PPP encapsulation. This is one of many advantages to using PPP it is not proprietary.

PPP can be used over twisted pair, fibre-optic lines, and satellite transmission. PPP provides transport over ATM, Frame Relay, ISDN and optical links. For security, PPP allows you to authenticate or secure connections using either Password Authentication Protocol (PAP) or the more effective Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP).

PPP is used to carry out the following functions

*

Data Encapsulations: this is a method used to encapsulate multi-protocol datagrams. Different network-layer protocols are simultaneously transported and encapsulated over the same link, the flexibility of the PPP design enables it to be compatible to most supporting network devices.
*

Link Control Protocol: The LCP is used to establish, configure, and test the data link connection. It’s flexible in handling different sizes of packets, detect a looped-back link, configuration errors, and terminate the link.
*

Network Control Protocol: NCP is used for establishing and configuring different Network layer protocols. PPP enables the simultaneous use of multiple Network layer protocols.  Some of the more familiar NCPs are:

i.        Internet Protocol Control Protocol

ii.       AppleTalk Control Protocol

iii.     Novell IPX Control Protocol

iv.     Cisco Systems Control Protocol

v.      SNA Control Protocol

vi.     Compression Control Protocol.

What is PPP encapsulation ?

PPP Configuration Options:

PPP can be configured to support various functions including:

Authentication

you can configure PPP authentication using either PAP or CHAP. Peer routers exchange authentication messages. Two authentication choices are Password Authentication Protocol (PAP) and Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP).

Compression

Compression in a way of using either Stacker or Predictor, this increases the effective throughput on PPP connections by reducing the amount of data in the frame that must travel across the link. The protocol decompresses the frame at its destination. Two compression protocols available in Cisco routers are Stacker and Predictor. see how to configure your network links with compression here.

PPP Callback

To enhance security, Cisco IOS Release 11.1 and later offers callback over PPP. With this LCP option, a Cisco router can act as a callback client or a callback server. The client makes the initial call, requests that the server call it back, and terminates its initial call. The callback router answers the initial call and makes the return call to the client based on its configuration statements. The command is ppp callback [accept | request].

Multilink

Multilink combines two or more channels to increase the WAN bandwidth: Cisco IOS Release 11.1 and later supports multilink PPP. This alternative provides load balancing over the router interfaces that PPP uses. Multilink PPP (also referred to as MP, MPPP, MLP, or Multilink) provides a method for spreading traffic across multiple physical WAN links while providing packet fragmentation and reassembly, proper sequencing, multivendor interoperability, and load balancing on inbound and outbound traffic.

Error detection

Error detection identifies fault conditions. The Quality and Magic Number options help ensure a reliable, loop-free data link. The Magic Number field helps in detecting links that are in a looped-back condition. Until the Magic-Number Configuration Option has been successfully negotiated, the Magic Number must be transmitted as zero. Magic numbers are generated randomly at each end of the connection.

Simple Rules Of Emergent Intelligence

Leading at Light Speed is an essential new leadership book by Eric Douglas synthesizing the best business practices into 10 Quantum Leaps that build trust, spark innovation, and create a high-performing organization.

In Chapter 6, Stimulate the Creative Flow, Eric talks about Emergent Intelligence.

By taking advantage of bottom-up decision making, leaders encourage a form of behavior called “emergent intelligence.” The theory of emergent intelligence reflects a growing field of research into how complex societies and organisms operate.

The organisms operating on the most basic principles, according to emergent intelligence theory, are those which has the best chance of evolutionary success. Ant colonies are cited as a prime example. One rule of ants is that everyone but the queen is a multi-tasker. A second rule is: “Do what the ant next to you is doing.” A third rule is to let the ants carrying food in first, moving out of the way. These three simple rules enable the colony to communicate and adapt to change very rapidly. The garbage is moved to the curb; then you find yourself searching for edibles. Survival in a colony of ants to an extent depends on their ability to accept sudden changes that are a result of specific methods of operation employed.

Positive effects of continual restructuring and developing of organizations and companies are beyond imagination. It suggests that simple rules might be very powerful when applied to people. During the 1970s, Dee Hock, instructed a group of bankers to use the concept of emergent intelligence to invent the Visa. Various credit cards had been given as a choice to local banks however the rules varied for each to this point. The team and Dee intended to design a credit card assuring clearing functions that would make this card’s interactions open ended worldwide.

Dee understood that banks needed to operate independently within well-understood rules. So his team worked hard for more than a year to define those rules. This was the genius of their process. The first rule they came up with was: “You keep what you earn.” The banks which signed up for Visa maintain all except a small portion of fees or interest they created.

The second rule was:
“No limits on membership.” Any bank was free to join the Visa alliance.

The third rule related to ownership.
Since the banks needed the freedom to operate independently, no one should “own” Visa. Thus Visa was structured as a non-stock corporation with governance vested in the member banks. Stock was nill causing a shareholder no gain of interest control in Visa.

The final rule related to management.
A separate company would manage Visa’s operations. Regional and executive boards would be required as answering systems for a fail safe check of sorts. Of the fees collected by the banks, a small fraction would go to this management company to take care of marketing, back office operations, reconciliation, and so forth. But it would not be in a position to “control” Visa. Rule of authority went in the opposite direction from the standard method and alternatively started with member institutions. Visa was developed as a basic item, however, fine print was minimal. The hard work was in all the engagement and planning that preceded those operating rules. Thus a worldwide form of currency was born.

From this experience, Dee invented the term “chaordic” organization. It reflects his belief that successful organizations are “chaordic” in nature. By that he means they walk a fine line between chaos and order. Making company decisions start at the top and proceed down in this systematic order. Chaos is represented by bottom-up decision making. The way Dee views it, companies of charordic processes use a delineated value structure, clear vision and strong concepts where operating principles are applied. They also have clear systems for monitoring performance. Within that framework, people are left to create strategies and devise solutions as they see fit. It is a model that aligns perfectly with inspiring flow and building a high-performing organization.

Organizations that set these kinds of simple but profound rules enable their people to play on the waves of emergent intelligence. By investing in both trust and spark, by balancing order and chaos, they become capable of operating at light speed.

Discover What You Really Want

Ever wonder why some people never get anything good out of their life? That’s because they don’t know what they want in the first place!

You must be specific in your passions, then you must focus all your efforts on that particular desire.

Some people don’t really know what they want. For one moment they’re excited over a particular thing or endeavor. The next thing you know they completely abandon it; either because they lose their interest or because they give up when they encounter a little problem. They will never get anywhere when they always change their minds or give up easily just because the going gets tough. They have not experienced a spiritual awakening. You could be a little confused at this moment. You don’t seem to know what you really want in life. You might want to consider these to start your spiritual journey:

1. What gets you excited?

2. What makes you happy?

3. What are you consistently thinking of day & night?

4. What do you want to do for the rest of your life?

5. What do you enjoy doing?

6. What are your obsessions?

7. What things make you jump with joy?

To help you out, just follow these steps.

1. Write on a piece of paper all your possible answers for the seven questions above. Write anything, even seemingly unimportant ones.

 2. Encircle 5 to 7 items that interests you the most.

 3. Then evaluate and choose with your heart the one and only thing that is worthy to spend all your time and resources with. The chosen one should really be something that brings out the best in you.

Other than the exercise above, you could also ask your close friends and relatives about their personal dreams. You could also read books and surf the net to help you in your search.

Use your heart. Other people may disagree with you, but you should be firm with what you really want. Others may give comments or advice but you have the final say on the decision making. You should focus on your dreams, not other people’s dreams for you.

Then you have to constantly visualize and affirm your desires.

If you want to be a lawyer, visualize as one. Act like one. Think of what suit you’re wearing, the judge you’re convincing, the case you’re handling, and the courtroom you’re in. Visualize the evidences. Smell the victory. Make everything real.

Believe that you are what you are visualizing. So you want to be a lawyer? Tell yourself, ‘I’m the best lawyer in the world.’ Don’t say to yourself, ‘I will be the best lawyer in the world.’

Affirm strongly. Say ‘I am,’ not ‘I will,’ because ‘I will’ suggests something that will occur only in the future. It has to be something you experience NOW, not in the future.

You must sink into your subconscious your deepest desire. The subconscious mind can do what the conscious mind cannot.

Here’s an exercise.

1. Get a quiet and comfortable place to rest.

2. Relax your whole body. Command every part of your body to relax starting from your feet up to your head.

3. Slowly count back from 20 to 1, relaxing deeper and deeper with each count. Upon reaching 1, you are completely relaxed.

4. Now affirm your deepest desire. If you want to be a lawyer, say,’ I am the greatest lawyer in the world.’ As you’re saying that, picture yourself to be the best lawyer ever, winning every case you’ve come across. You may say ‘I am now explaining to the jury my winning proposition’ or anything that will affirm what you’re conceiving in your mind as of the moment.

5. After about 10 to 20 minutes of continuous confirmation and visualization, count slowly from 1 to 20. Upon counting, slowly be aware of your surroundings. Feel refreshed and invigorated after doing this exercise.

6. Repeat this exercise every day. You have jsut leanred a very powerful technique to greatly enhance the power of visualization and affirmation – embedding it into the subconscious. What once is nearly impossible to achieve will become easier to reach from now on.

Don’t go sleeping tonight without making a final decision on WHAT YOU REALLY WANT IN LIFE MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. Then every day, visualize and affirm.

What Do I Need To Think About Before A Job Interview

Taking a look at Tesco job vacancies is a good start for your job hunt. With a wide range of job positions across the country you are sure to find a vacancy and career that meets your needs.

Pre-interview nerves are perfectly normal but with some preparation you can minimise those nerves. You already know what you can do but do you know what the company does?  Preparing yourself with a little information about the organisation you are being interviewed by will give you an essential insight into what the potential employer may be looking for in an interview candidate such as yourself.

Whilst you do not need to spend a great deal of time knowing all the ins and outs of a company, it is important to have a good basic knowledge of what it does, it’s specific marketplace and it’s history. It is unlikely you will be asked many questions about the company’s history but you will get a feel for the philosophy of the organisation over the years and can tailor your answers to match with that philosophy.

By looking at the company’s website and judging the information given to you during the interview about the company’s work philosophy, it may become apparent that the company has a strong team-work ethic. It is important at this point that you give more information about your own team-playing skills rather than focus on any achievements you have accomplished on your own.

No matter what position you are applying for, it is good to know what products and services are offered by the company. It shows you have taken some time to get to know a little about the company before attending the interview.

As you do some research about the company you can also compile a questions list of your own which you can ask during the interview. By asking questions about the job you have applied for or about the company, you are showing a positive initiative.During the interview you may find that any questions you had pre-prepared have all been answered. This is fine, if you are asked if you have any questions just let the interviewers know that all the questions you had have been answered.

Finally, think about the questions the interviewer may ask you. They will want to know what experience you have and how you would handle certain situations. They may ask you to refer to previous situations you have been in and want you to draw on information from real life scenarios. It is good to have an idea of what scenarios you can refer to before the interview despite not knowing exactly what information the interviewer may wish to gather from your answer. Example scenarios would be positions of responsibility, meeting deadlines, managing a project, etc. Answering in a confident, knowledgeable will give the interviewer confidence in you. Try not to be evasive or miss out key areas of information as this will hinder the interviewer when deciding if you are right for the job.
